01Who this applies to
These terms govern anyone using blackhat.ink, anyone submitting a pitch, anyone subscribing to the dispatch, anyone voting on the weekly ballot, and anyone joining the Underground.
Using the site means you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
02Submissions
You retain ownership of the idea you submit. By submitting, you grant Black Hat a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to evaluate it, build it, sell it, and discuss it publicly.
If your pitch is selected and built, you take 5% of net revenue for twelve months from launch and lifetime access to the Underground. We pay monthly via Stripe transfer or your stated method. You do not own the app we build.
We reserve the right to refuse any submission for any reason, including but not limited to: federal crimes, deepfakes of real people, financial-adversarial tools, sexual content, harassment, and anything we judge would harm someone in a way the show cannot defend in public.
03Voting
Public votes are one per person. Underground votes count five times. We use lightweight fraud detection — repeat IP addresses, rapid-fire devices, and obvious manipulation get filtered. We do not publicly call out flagged voters. We do quietly discard their votes.
04Payments and refunds
Underground membership is $97 per month, charged monthly via Stripe. Cancel any time. No refunds for past months. You keep what is vested in the pot up to the date you cancel.
Apps shipped by Black Hat are priced individually. Each has its own refund policy stated on its own checkout page.
05Termination
We can suspend or remove any account, on any platform, for any breach of these terms. You can delete your account by emailing privacy@blackhat.ink.
06Liability
The site and the apps are provided as-is. We do not warrant that any of the software will succeed at the specific legal, financial, or relational outcome you want. If you use a Blackhat app to file paperwork, send a letter, or take any other action with real-world consequences, that action is yours.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is capped at the amount you have paid Black Hat in the twelve months preceding the claim.
07Changes
We can change these terms with at least 30 days notice via the dispatch and a homepage banner. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
